Welcome to EAA Chapter 1114!

Congratulations! You have arrived at one of the largest and most active Experimental Aircraft Association chapters in the southeastern USA. We're also #2 in total Young Eagles flights!

EAA1114 offers something for every aviation interest in central North Carolina: homebuilding, vintage, warbirds, ultralights, fly-ins, fly-outs, workshops, aviation history and good old hangar flying.

♦ Have you dreamed of learning to fly but were never able to make it happen? We're looking into adopting the EAA Flying Start program to help you make this dream come true. We will connect you with an instructor and supportive team, and shepherd you through the entire process. If that sounds like something of interest, drop us a note and let us know!

We're planning a one-of-a-kind "homecoming" event for our summer picnic on May 19. Chapter founders, all current and former members, and anyone otherwise involved in the Chapter, are invited. Mark your calendar and come join us for a pig pickin', live music from the Counterclockwise String Band, awards and recognition, static aircraft display, and fly-overs by Chapter members the Bandit Flight Team! E-vites will be going out in a few days.

Planning for Young Eagles events for 2018 is well under way! Details are on our Young Eagles page.

♦ Tell us what you think! Did you like the last meeting topic, or prefer to see something different? Or have any other suggestion to improve the Chapter?? Click here to send us a virtual comment card and tell us what you think.

  • Every 3rd Saturday of the month at 8AM for our world-famous pancake breakfast followed by a guest speaker describing some facet of aviation.
  • Every 1st Friday of the month, 6-7 PM, Builder Chat & Movie Night.  7-9 PM, free, family-friendly classic aviation movie showing.  BYOS - Bring Your Own Snacks.
  • Every 1st Tuesday of the month, 6:30PM, IMC Club, at the Wings of Carolina Flying Club facility at KTTA.
  • Every 4th Tuesday of the month, 6:30PM, VMC Club, at the Wings of Carolina Flying Club facility at KTTA.

EAA Chapter 1114 has one of the world's leading Young Eagles programs. We are currently number 2 out of all Chapters, with over 16,200 kids flown! We have numerous nationally recognized coordinators and volunteers. For details on upcoming rallies, see our YOUNG EAGLES page.

Many chapter builders are also members of the Bear Creek Aero Club, where aircraft are constructed and flown by Club members.
