December 12, Our hearts go out to the family of Bobby Cox, our founder and benefactor, who passed away on Dec 12. Bobby was an iconic figure in business and aviation in Apex, North Carolina, North America, the Western Hemisphere, and several other parts of the world. The stories are engaging and endless. Bobby lived the equivalent of multiple lives, and he was amazingly generous to share his adventures with us. We are forever grateful. May God bless and keep his family close, and may his memory be eternal. Obituary is available here.

Service is planned for Thursday, December 21st. Apex Baptist Church, 110 South Salem Street, Apex, N. C. 27502. Visitation at 1:00. Service at 2:00. For those who are unable to be at the funeral, this is a link to a live stream of the service: https://boxcast.tv/view/bobby-cox-memorial-liobskteitno6t35oode

We are honored that the Bandits Flight Team are scheduled to overfly with a Missing Man formation salute at about 3:45 at the graveside service.

August regular/breakfast meeting -- Thanks so much to friend-of-the-Chapter Tim Haley of the Greensboro FAASTeam for joining us. The aircraft maintenance-related presentation was well received. And thanks to the breakfast crew and other volunteers for setting up, providing breakfast, and tearing down. Volunteers make our wonderful organization function.

July regular/breakfast meeting -- Thanks so much to Iris Yang for a wonderful presentation on the Flying Tigers, and for sharing her inspiration for writing three fictionalized books on the topic, as well as her personal story on living in and leaving China during a dark time in history.

Thanks to all the pilots and other volunteers who made the YE event at KTTA on 6/3 a success -- Saturday was a beautiful day for aviation, and our YE event flew over a hundred kids!

We're returning to breakfast at 8am -- During the winter as we returned to more consistent in-person meetings for our "regular" meeting on the third Saturday of each month, we were meeting a little later. With spring here, and with more organized programs, it's time to get back to earlier meetings. Breakfast will be served at 8am, and the meeting program with start around 9am. Please join us!

For those at the meeting who were asking about joining the Chapter -> please see the details on the Join Us page.

In recent years, the Chapter has had several successful Ray Aviation scholarship student candidates complete various pilot training. We plan to continue to support and expand this effort. Your tax-deductible contribution can help make that possible. Email scholarship@eaa1114.org for more info.

IMC/VMC Club will meet via Zoom until further notice - See the FAAST site for scheduled meetings.
