Welcome to EAA Chapter 1114!

Congratulations! You have arrived at one of the largest and most active Experimental Aircraft Association chapters in the southeastern USA.

EAA1114 offers something for every aviation interest in central North Carolina: homebuilding, vintage, warbirds, ultralights, fly-ins, fly-outs, workshops, aviation history and good old hangar flying.

*New* - THIS TUESDAY - VMC Club meets at the Wings of Carolina facility at KTTA, scenario based discussion group for VFR pilots, 7pm - 8:30pm.

*New* - THIS SATURDAY - Young Eagles rally Saturday April 27 at the Henderson-Oxford Airport KHNZ, go to https://youngeaglesday.com/, find our rally and preregister your child for a free airplane ride! If you want to join us as a volunteer to help put on the rally, sent a note to YoungEagles@eaa1114.org.

The March 23rd fly/drive-out to tour the IOMAX facility near the Lake Norman Airpark, Moorseville, NC was a success and was well attended. You can see some photos by clicking here.

If you missed our March 16th meeting featuring Tom & Janet Malechuk of Guardian Aviation telling their 30-year story, the video is now available for members on the Meeting Videos page.

On March 5th Dr. Dan Johnson described the record-breaking flights (over 76,000 feet!) by the Perlan Project's High Altitude Glider. Jim Payne, Perlan Chief Pilot, joined the presentation.

Proposed Fly/Drive-out events for 2019 have been added to the Calendar page. Some dates are still being nailed down.

2019 event planning is shaping up. Many of the details have been shared at the Chapter meetings, on the Calendar page, and on the Young Eagles page. Now is the time for every Chapter member to find a place to help out so that we can make 2019 a great year! Thank you for your support!
